From a single scattered leaf to the whole Book of Hours, reconstructing its history
We are a team of academics and young researchers from various European universities, specialising in fragmentology.
From Books of Hours’ surviving fragments we digitally reconstruct the manuscripts whence scattered leaves were taken.
We offer advice to collectors who wish to know the original appearance of the manuscript whose leaves they possess. We are often able to identify the first owner for whom these jewel-like Book of Hours were made, and the workshops that produced them.
After such a reconstruction, we are able to offer a facsimile, digital and critical edition of the source manuscript.
We manage the RECEPTIO Foundation's extensive manuscript and printed books collection.

HORÆHOURS is the brainchild of Carla Rossi — professor of Romance Philology at the University of Zurich and of Applied Codicology at the Research Centre for European Philological Tradition of London & Lugano, a leading expert in medieval manuscripts for over thirty years —, and of Maurizio Rebaudengo, a long-time university researcher, bibliophile and codicologist.
Also part of the team are the librarian Adrienn Orosz, and the stagiaire Michela Cicalini.
